 ƒÂ­a de los niños/Día de los libros (Day of the Child/Day of the Boo
 k) is a day to spread the joy of reading by linking books with children fr
 om all languages and cultures. Celebrated in libraries across America\, DÃ
 ƒÂ­a seeks to engender in children a love of reading and to promote the im
 portance of literacy. Many Latin American countries traditionally celebrat
 e their children with a national holiday on the last day of April. Día 
 was established in the United States in 1996 by award-winning children's a
 uthor Pat Mora\, and is sponsored annually by REFORMA (an affiliate of the
  American Library Association) and the Association of Bilingual Education.
  The City Library will celebrate with a puppet show by Los Calientes and a
  storytime followed by music and a craft. Each child will be given a book 
 to take home with them. \n\n\nStart time: Saturday 4:00pm
