The Mountainland Applied Technology College campus, which is being built in the Thanksgiving Point, development, will be the focal point for delivery of career and technical education in the Mountainland Region. This will be a place where community members can take advantage of the training programs to provide a better quality of life, to further their career development, and to develop a love of lifelong learning. The artwork for this campus should reflect the community, topography and traditions of the Mountainland Region and Utah County. The committee anticipates that the artwork will encourage the students, public and employees to reflect and to be drawn into a welcoming, warm environment. The Utah Division of Arts and Museums’ Public Art Program was created by the Utah State Legislature in 1985 with the passage of the Percent-for-Art Act. This statute allows for 1 % of construction costs for new or remodeled State facilities to be added to the project for the commissioning or acquisition of art that is site-specific to the facility and About the Utah Division of Arts & Museums The Utah Division of Arts and Museums is a division of the Utah Department of Community and Culture.
