West Jordan Theater Arts is presenting “Nunsense: The Mega-Musical”, a hilarious musical spoof about the misadventures of five nuns trying to manage a fundraiser. Sadly, the rest of the sisterhood died from botulism after eating vichyssoise prepared by Sister Julia Child of God. Thus, the remaining nuns - ballet-loving Sister Leo, street-wise Sister Robert Anne, befuddled Sister Mary Amnesia, the Mother Superior Sister Regina, and mistress of the novices Sister Mary Hubert - stage a talent show in order to raise the money to bury their dearly departed.

Auditions for "Nunsense: The Mega-Musical" will be held at the Sugar Factory Playhouse on July 9 and 10, 2008 from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. Please come prepared with a smile and 32 bars of an upbeat broadway-style song. Accompanist will be provided. Auditioners must be 16 years or older and may be asked to do some cold reading from the script. Both men and women are needed for lead and ensemble roles. This expanded version of the original "Nunsense" was created by the same author, has the same hilarious script, the same improbable plot and the same rib-tickling music. The difference is that the cast is expanded to include more nuns and more men and women in an ensemble. All roles are open. The show will be directed by Debe Jacobs.

Performance dates are September 18-29 at the Sugar Factory Playhouse. The playhouse is located at 8201 South 2200 West in the old West Jordan Sugar Factory, just east of the silos.
