What: WSU Bonneville Youth Orchestra 2008-09

The Bonneville Youth Orchestra, a part of the WSY String Project, is scheduling auditions for the 2008-09 academic year on Saturday,
September 13, 9-11 AM and Monday, September 15, 4-6 PM in Room 133, Val A.Browning Center for the Performing Arts. All students
auditioning should be prepared with a solo piece of their choice, and a major scale in 3 octaves for stringed instruments (2 octaves for string bass), and 2 octaves for winds and brass.
The Bonneville Youth Orchestra will offer advanced level pre-college instrumental musicians another venue for performance in addition to their own school orchestras. It's not meant to supplant the valuable school orchestra experience. It will also serve those students whose schools are for one reason or another unable to provide an orchestra experience. Since the BYO will perform music for full orchestra, string, wind, brass, and percussion players with an interest in being orchestral performers are needed. We are also auditioning for harp. These instrumentalists are invited to attend one of the two audition dates.
A brochure with the application may be downloaded from the project website: programs.weber.edu/wsustringproject/byo To receive a registration brochure by mail or for more information about the program, please contact Georgene Ady, WSU Department of Performing Arts secretary, 626-6437 or gady@weber.edu or Michael Palumbo, 626 6991 or mpalumbo@weber.edu or Carrie Maxson, 626-8169 or maxsonc@ogdensd.org.
