Ogden Pioneer Days and Ogden City Arts is pleased to issue this call to artists for the annual Ogden Pioneer Days - Traces of the West Art Show. More than $5,000 will be awarded in the categories of Western Art Master, Western Art Novice and the ever popular Paint Yer Cowboy Boot Boogie painted western boot show. First prize in the Master category will be awarded a purse of $1,500. First prize in the Paint Yer Cowboy Boot Boogie will be awarded a $500 prize. There will also be a special Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo Committee choice award up for grabs.

Art work will be received at Ogden’s Historic Union Station at 2501 Wall Avenue, in Gallery 51 off the Grand Lobby on Tuesday, June 26th from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and on Wednesday, June 27th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There will be a $5.00 entry fee per work both the Traces of the West fine art show Master and Novice categories and the Paint Yer Cowboy Boot Boogie with no limit on the number of works accepted per artist. The show will remain on display throughout the month of July.

The Traces of the West celebration and artist’s reception will be held Friday evening, July 6th at 6pm at Ogden’s Union Station in conjunction with Ogden’s First Friday Art Stroll, which will be kicked off with a concert featuring Charlie Jenkins. There will be no charge for this community event which will officially open the month long Ogden Pioneer Days celebration with the Traces of the West Art Show and will welcome back the Trails to Pioneer Days Horse Show herd along the byways of Ogden.
