Come see Frederick Knott's suspenseful thriller Wait Until Dark as it is presented by the Empress Theatre. Wait Until Dark first opened in 1966 for an extremely successful 374-performance run, before becoming a feature film starring Audrey Hepburn. This show truly is a classic thriller. Sam Henderson is a photographer. Sam and his wife, Susy, live in a basement apartment. Sam's responsibilities require that he be involved in frequent photography trips, often to far away places. Susy was recently involved in a terrible accident which left her blind. Adjusting to her new way of life, Susy is working to overcome the difficulties of living in the dark. Returning from one of his trips, Sam was approached by a woman who asked if he would help her by holding onto a doll she had purchased for her daughter. Her asserted purpose was to hide the doll from her daughter, thus preserving her surprise gift for just the right moment. Sam agrees but the woman never returns.
