Add Review/CommentIn 1969, English composer, David Fanshawe, traveled to Africa to record indigenous tribes performing their ceremonial songs. He then composed a SANCTUS to coincide with these recordings. This work-scored for choir, soprano solo, rock band, recorded tape, and ethnic drums-is full of energy, driving rhythms, haunting melodies, innovative compositional techniques, and has become an important multi-cultural work in the world of choral music. The USU Chamber Singers and Chorale, directed by Dr. Cory Evans, will welcome the composer, and renowned Master Drummer, Obo Addy, as part of this special presentation.
