A three day folklife festival featuring traditional music, dance, crafts and foods. The Salt Lake City Arts Council produces annually Living Traditions: A Celebration of Salt Lake’s Folk and Ethnic Arts, a three-day folklife festival held in downtown Salt Lake. The 2008 Living Traditions Festival features the traditional music, dance, crafts and foods of Salt Lake’s many ethnic communities. In addition to savoring the mouth-watering selection of foods prepared by twenty nonprofit ethnic groups, festival visitors experience a wide range of authentic performances and demonstrations as well as have the opportunity to play bocce ball or watch cooking demonstrations by ethnic chefs. In addition, Living Traditions presents guest performing artists from around the world on Friday and Saturday evenings. The festival is produced in partnership with the Folk Arts Program of the Utah Arts Council and the Utah State Office of Education.
