Life’s Joy will feature classical choral selections ranging from the Baroque period to more modern music. Money for ticket sales will be given to the Davis County Children’s Justice Center, a child-friendly setting for children who have been abused. The center helped more than 400 children last year. Medical and legal services are provided at the center, along with crisis counseling and other support services. This concert will feature guest conductor Jane Fjelsted, a doctoral candidate in choral conducting in the university’s School of Music. A Fruit Heights native, Fjelsted is the daughter of former Mormon Tabernacle Choir Associate Conductor Donald Ripplinger. She has conducted choral groups on many occasions, including a family choir for the LDS Church’s general conference. Useful Information: The Davis Master Chorale, which is celebrating its 11th season, is a non-profit community choir based in Davis County but drawing members from Salt Lake to Ogden. If you have any questions, please call Paul Day, (801) 543-2556, or Dan Croft, (801) 390-3740.
