Figure Sculpture taught by Mike Call
- Saturdays, 10:00 AM – noon/June 13 – 27, July 11 – 25, AugusT 22 & 29
- Tuition: $100 + $35 Supply Fee + $50 model fee /(8 weeks)
- Open to beginners through advanced students who would like to work from a live costumed model on their own or with guidance from this qualified artist. Instructor will be available for consulting and critiquing for advanced students. Beginning students who prefer to be guided will be working on 18” - 30” figures with an emphasis placed on anatomy, proportion, gesture, and drapery. Supply fee includes armature wire and some clay.
Sculpture Casting Workshop taught by Mike Call
- Saturdays, 1:00 - 2:30 pM /June 13 – 27, July 11 – 25, AugusT 22 & 29 /Tuition: $120 (8 weeks)
- For students of all skill levels who would like to create a duplicate of an original sculpture. Come prepared with your sculpture or practice casting techniques with some plaster casts provided by the instructor. Class will focus on using flexible rubber molds used for casting in resin and bronze. Instructor will be available for consulting on material purchases which can cost anywhere from $50-$200 for a project. Students will be responsible for their own supplies.
Horse Sculpture taught by Mike Call
- Tuesdays, June 16 – July 21, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
- Tuition: $75 + $60 Supply Fee + $25 model fee /(6 weeks)
- Students of all skill levels will have the opportunity to learn more about this beautiful animal as they work from a live horse, on site, at Universal Equestrian Center located in West Bountiful. Working from a pre-formed armature, students will create an 8”-10” sculpture with an emphasis placed on anatomy, proportion, and capturing the life of the animal. Supply fee includes wire armature form and some clay.
Interior Design Basics taught by Barry Rishton
- Tuesdays, June 16 – July 7, 7:00 - 8:30 pm/Tuition: $60 + $5 Material Fee /(4 weeks)
- This four week course covers essentials in furniture arrangement, style trends and history, color and fabrics, plus accessorizing tips. Weekly lectures will cover demos on faux walls, pillow designs, window fashions, choosing fine art for your walls, and more. Work on your own designs and discuss skills for decorating on a dime and tips on shopping trips.
Foundations in Painting taught by Simon Winegar
- Thursdays, June 18 – July 23, 6:30 - 9:30 pm/Tuition: $95 /(6 weeks)
- Designed for the serious beginning to intermediate artist, this class will equip the artist with a solid foundation in form, value, color, edges and composition while focusing on understanding and discussing the laws and principles of representational art. Taught in the oil medium, students interested in oil or acrylic painting will benefit from this class. Most of this class will deal with landscape painting, but will also incorporate still life. The average class will involve a half-hour to forty-five minute lecture, demonstrations, and at least two hours of work time with ongoing critique.
Watercolor taught by Michal Onyon
- Tuesdays, July 7 – 28, 7:00 - 9:00 pm/tuition: $60 /(4 weeks)
- Open to beginners through advanced watercolorists, this four week course will focus on design as students acquire a stronger foundation and fine tune their painting skills.
Plein Aire Watercolor Workshop taught by Michal Onyon
- Saturday, July 18, 9:00 AM – NOON/tuition: $45 (1 DAY)
- Beginner to advanced watercolorists will work outdoors on location at a local site, to be determined. Students will explore how to limit their view/scene, edit, and work with the medium in outdoor conditions. Meet at BDAC at 9AM, bring your own chair, and be prepared for the elements.
Yoga 101 taught by Connie Day
- Classes run June 8 - July 23, no class held the week of June 22-26. Classes may be purchased one day for 6 weeks $50 (6 classes) or two day for 6 weeks $90 (12 classes). Limited drop in $10.
- Mondays/Wednesdays, 7:30 - 8:30 AM
- Yoga 101 is an accessible step-by-step course to learning the basics of Yoga and building strength, flexibility, and focus. In this introductory class we will explore breathing techniques, basic postures, and end each class in a complete relaxation allowing the mind and body to heal. By the end of the course you will have 6 mini-sessions to practice at home.
Gentle Flow Yoga taught by Connie Day
- Classes run June 8 - July 23, no class held the week of June 22-26. Classes may be purchased one day for 6 weeks $50 (6 classes) or two day for 6 weeks $90 (12 classes). Limited drop in $10.
- Tuesdays/Thursdays, 8:00 - 9:00 AM
- Learn to link movement and breath, still the mind, and reduce everyday stress through gentle flowing movement. Tap into the right side of the brain, accessing the creative mind; achieving your potential! Open to all ages and abilities.
