    SUU DEPARTMENT OF MUSIC FEATURES PIANO RECITAL BY KIRILL GLIADKOVSKY

    (Southern Utah University, Cedar City, Utah) The Southern Utah University Department of Music is proud to announce a faculty recital by the head of the piano department, Dr. Kirill Gliadkovsky. The recital will take place in Thorley Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday,
    September 18, 2009. Gliadkovsky’s performance will feature compositions by composers such as Grieg, Brahms, Gottschalk, and
    Gershwin.

    Gliadkovsky was born in Moscow, Russia, and began studying music at the age of five. He attended the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, and earned his master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Southern California. Gliadkovsky has performed extensively in the United States and internationally. He is also in high demand as a recording artist, having recorded six CDs and having been featured on various television and radio stations in the United States and Russia. Gliadkovsky taught at the University of Southern California, Pepperdine University and Santa Monica College prior to coming to SUU in 2007. He has also taught master classes all over the United States.

    Since accepting his position at SUU, Gliadkovsky has taught Music History, Piano Pedagogy, Keyboard Collaborative Arts, Piano  Literature and Performance History, Sight Singing and Ear Training, Orchestration and Arranging, Form and Analysis and Music  History, in addition to teaching private piano lessons. He continues to keep a busy performance schedule and regularly collaborates in a piano duo with his wife, Anna Gliadkovskaya. Gliadkovskaya is an adjunct piano instructor and accompanist at SUU.
