The Westminster College Center for Civic Engagement will sponsor a S.L.I.C.E. (Student Leaders In Civic Engagement) event  centered on learning more from local individuals and how these perspectives apply to national healthcare reform. The workshop will feature Dr. Steven Prather, Bill Barnes of Intermountain Health Care, and Emma Chacon of the Utah Department of Health. These speakers were selected to give the audience a broad perspective on current healthcare policies, concerns, and advocacies. The event is free and open to the public and will take place on Tuesday November 10, in the Malouf building, room 201 at 7:30 p.m.

This event is hosted as a part of Westminster's S.L.I.C.E. (Student Leaders in Civic Engagement) program to help students hone  their community organization skills. S.L.I.C.E. students design projects to address issues about which they are passionate and the Center for Civic Engagement provides them the resources and mentorship they need to turn their ambitions into real social change.
