The SUU Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will present Breaking Bounds, December 2-5, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Randall L. Jones Theatre on the SUU campus. Tickets are $10 for General Admission, $8 for SUU Faculty and Staff, $5 for students/children and SUU Students attend free with a valid Student ID. They may be purchased by calling 435-865-7872, on line at www.suu.edu/arts or at the door. Guided by improvisation and organic development, student choreographers are encouraged to breakthrough their limitations to create original work. The concert reflects their creative spirit and intention through rhythm, dynamics and risk.

A few highlights from the concert offers include, The Watering Hole, Alluring and Pas de Duex for 9. The Watering Hole, was choreographed by Kara Johnson and for the group Orchesis. The Watering Hole is a visual representation of African wildlife. The movement for this piece is inspired by the animals, the lands they live in and the feeling of unity. Alluring, choreographed by Stephanie Terry depicts the feminine characteristics of the female body that attract the opposite gender. Katie Wackowskis Pas de Deux for 9, represents how humans connect with one another on a soul-to-soul basis, and how such a community opens us up to giving and receiving support no matter where in life we are.

The pieces Alluring and Pas de Deux, have been selected to be performed at the American College Dance Festival (ACDF). This years festival will be at Weber State University in March 2010.
