The Neil Simon classic comedy The Odd Couple will open the Empress theatre’s 2010 season. This uproarious comedy will open on January 22nd and run through February 13th. Performances will be on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm at the theatre located in Historic Downtown Magna.

Neil Simon’s box office hit, The Odd Couple, traces the lives of the infamously mismatched roommates: Felix Ungar, a neurotic fusspot news writer, and Oscar Madison, a slovenly sports journalist. At his wife’s insistence, Felix is evicted from his home and abandoned on the doorstep of his childhood friend Oscar. As fate would have it Oscar has likewise has been given the boot, living the life of a not-so-swinging single. Can two new re-bachelors share an apartment without driving each other insane?

The Empress’ production is directed by Courtney Gardner, and stars Shelby Maughan as Oscar and Paul Pugmire as Felix, also in the cast are Richard Coleman, Russell Merrill, and Nancy Merrill and Kristen Fox as the upstairs neighbors “The Pigeon Sisters.”
