Westminster's new Continuing Education Program will host a Wine 101 course for those interested in wine tasting/selection and food pairing. The course will take place on February 19 and 26 at 6 p.m. in the Kim T. Adamson Alumni House.
Wine expert Eric Nielsen will introduce participants to the basics of wine tasting and food/wine pairing in an exciting, interactive, two-part series at Westminster College. Neilsen has over 25 years of upscale restaurant experience. A Utah native, he has spent much of his time working for the locally owned Gastronomy Inc.
Part One: Wine Tasting and Selection: Learn proper wine-tasting techniques and taste nine of the worlds most popular wines.  Participants will learn how to identify each wines unique characteristics and how to purchase their own selections.
Part Two: Wine and Food Paring: Learn the five basic food pairing strategies and experience food/wine interactions with six wines and eight food, including BBQ sauce, potato chips, salsa and chocolate.
