The 25th Anniversary season of the Salt Lake Men’s Choir closes with a celebration showcasing all the fun, fabulous, comical and powerful songs from some of Hollywood’s greatest movies ever made. As “Utah’s Other Choir”, the Salt Lake Men’s choir does songs from the Silverscreen as only they can, from high camp to high drama, all under the baton of artistic director Dennis McCracken. See a dazzling program of song, dance (eat your heart out Rockettes) and costumes marking nearly 70 years of Hollywood movie music: From 1939 hear Judy Garland’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz and Groucho Marx’s signature song, “Lydia the Tattooed Lady” from At The Circus. From 1965 “The Sound of Music”, the rocking ‘80s songs of “Footloose” and “The Heat is On” from Beverly Hills Cop and then see the fanny shaking choreography to “Can’t Stop the Beat” from the 2007 hit movie Hairspray starring John Travolta. There’s sure to be something fun for everyone!
