The Utah Symphony Chamber Orchestra features Keith Lockhart as the conductor and Gerald Elias plays the violin. George Crumb conjures haunting vocal effects in his avant-garde masterpiece, even calling for the mezzo soprano to vocalize into an amplified piano. It will be evident that David Crumb, George's son, seeks more emotion than experimentation as Utah Symphony violinist Gerald Elias performs his intensely affecting reflection on 9/11.
