Brett Johnson's father gave him his first camera when he was 12 years old: a bare-bones Pentax K1000 35mm SLR. Today he owns his own photo studio and uses a variety of cameras including professional 35mm and medium-format film cameras, digital SLRs, and antique cameras (like the Brownie No. 2, which dates from the 1910s). Johnson has studied outdoor photography, portrait photography, dark-room technique, and toy cameras. His photographs have appeared on the cover of the Utah Bar Journal several times; one photo was awarded 'Cover of the Year.'
