New Work by Deborah Hake Brinkerhoff and Heather Barron
March 21-April 11, 2008
Add Review/Comment | Read Reviews/CommentsSince taking up painting in 1998, Heather Barron's work has soared in popularity. Perhaps her success has something to do with her sincere, somewhat evocative subject matter and style of painting. Originally from England, Heather naturally infuses her work with a bit of English country charm. Images of mainly female figures, singular in pensive poses or two sisters, a mother and child or even friends comforting one another, gaze gracefully or shall we say full of grace out toward the viewer. You can see evidence of acts of kindness and compassion. It is Heather's intent to speak of joy and goodness. One is easily drawn to such warmth and simple beauty. Deborah Hake Brinckerhoff also seeks to represent and communicate human thoughts and feelings in her work. Her brightly colored and thickly painted surfaces are a delight in themselves. Painted solely with a palette knife her style is unmistakable. Simply put she says 'My paintings are representational of the subject, but not necessarily accurate to real life. I hope to achieve balance by teasing out the connections between the uncertainties and conflicts in life as well as the exuberance and joy of what it means to be in this world.' Important Information: There will be a Gallery Stroll and Artist's Reception March 21, 2008 from 6:00pm-9:00pm.

LOVE Heather's chair she painted for the RDT silent auction! Was embarrassed to make such a low bid because of such a tough economic situation but will continue to admire her work from afar!... Expand
