The creators of Les Miserables have taken the plot of the opera Madame Butterfly and set it in the closing days of the Vietnam War. The star-crossed lovers are Chris, an American serviceman, and Kim, a Vietnamese girl with whom Chris falls in love. The brief love affair is torn apart by the war, leaving Kim with a son by Chris. Chris, thinking Kim dead, returns to America and marries Ellen. When he learns that Kim is alive and has a son by him, he and Ellen return to Vietnam as the war reaches its final calamitous days. Chris and Kim find each other, but they are helpless to prevent the inevitable tragedy that the war and circumstances bring down on them. Additional Information: Children in grades K-12 are half price on Mondays and Tuesdays. Tickets go on sale April 26. Due to popular demand, an extra matinee performance of Miss Saigon has been added on Wednesday, May 13th, 2009.

This was a really strong production in every aspect. Shannon Tyo was a near perfect Kim. Tyo herself is fresh out of college and she really brought a genuine innocence to Kim. All other principle... Expand

I was blown away by all of the performers. I watched Miss Saigon many years ago in New York and I never thought a performance in Utah was going to compare to NY. But wow, was I wrong.... Expand

The only reason I give this four stars is because it's not really the best *story* out there but PMT's production is top notch! The actors are stellar. I saw this opening night and walked away -well,... Expand
