Gurney's play will be performed Salt Lake City veteran actor's Michelle Peterson and Richard Scott. Michelle was last seen in Salt Lake Acting Company's Rabbit Hole. She is the Company Manager for the Utah Opera. Richard was last seen in the Grand Theatre's Inherit the Wind. He is the Artistic Director of the Grand Theatre. These two wonderful actors are directed by their colleague, mentor and friend Anne Cullimore Decker a well know actor/director and instructor in the Utah arts world. This unique and rather evocative play reconstructs the lifelong correspondence between Andrew Ladd and Melissa Gardner over a period of 50 years together. As the author carries them from second grade through the trauma of adulthood, marriage, divorce and middle age, we see that relationship evolve beyond friendship, sibling bonds and romantic ties into something so complete that it got taken for granted until too late. Gurney traces this lifelong correspondence, a lifetime of letters celebrating a relationship, which is as unusual as it is beautiful, as exclusive as it is intimate.
