2008 Mountain West Conference

The Utah Arts Council has officially announced the 'Imagination, Innovation, Action' to be the theme of their 2008 Mountain West Conference on the Arts. The conference provides low-cost access to workshops, networking opportunities, training, and speakers on issues facing the art world in the Mountain West region. 'I am very excited we are able to continue the Mountain West Conference on the Arts as a part of our outreach plan. This conference is an important tool for us to disseminate information to our constituents on how to develop new program resources, implement new practices, find funding, make connections, and increase visibility. Plus, we are finalizing a very exciting keynote. He has the unique ability to capture the big picture while exuding a sense that his remarks are personally tailored. I have personally found him to be extremely inspiring. I am confident participants will return to their organizations, studios, or communities, energized to move forward with new imaginative projects,' stated Utah Arts Council Director Margaret Hunt. The Conference will feature approximately 14 workshops, hands-on art-making sessions, and live performances. Registration for the Conference will open on Wednesday, March 12, 2008. Registration can be accessed from the Utah Arts Council website.
