The Westminster Chamber Singers will sing a wide variety of music in preparation for their tour to China this summer for the Choral Tribute to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The concert, in the beautiful setting of St. Mary's Church, will be a perfect way to conclude your Mother's Day celebration. The 32-member Chamber Singers troupe will travel to China from June 26 through July 27. While in China, the group will perform at two of Westminster's 'sister' schools: Nankai University in Tianjin, and Donghua University in Shanghai. The Olympic tribute concert will be in Beijing on July 1, 2008. The singers will chronicle their trip for KSL-TV, with the help of a loaned professional TV camera. Since the Chamber Singers were organized in 1996, their combination of youthful exuberance and artistically advanced performance of sacred and secular music has been in demand at a variety of venues both on and off campus. In recent years they have toured Utah, Nevada, Washington D.C., and New York City where, in 2002, they performed John Rutter's Gloria with several other college choirs in Carnegie Hall under Rutter's direction. In 2006, they went on a European tour encompassing both Spain and France.
