The arrival of the pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley was the end of a long journey, but it was the beginning of the settlement of the West. After the Days of '47 Parade, come up to This Is The Place Heritage Park and see what life was like in the settlements of 19th Century Utah. Watch the blacksmith working at his forge, learn how wool was spun into thread, or visit with the furniture maker. Kids can meet farm animals face-to-face at the Petting Corral, ride ponies and choose from a number of hands-on crafts to make. Everyone will enjoy a ride around the village on the train. There will be live music, great food at the Monument Cafe and plenty of things to see and do in 40 original and replica homes and businesses straight out of Utah's history. You might even meet Brigham Young!

This venue is a fantastic experience for kids and adults. Our grandchildren had a fabulous time being totally immersed in the culture of those who settled the Salt Lake valley so many years ago!... Expand
