Salt Lake City welcomes the 16th Annual Downtown Farmers Market and Art and Craft Market to Historic Pioneer Park, providing an opportunity for the community to support local farmers! The Market-with over 200 vendors-offers a unique variety of farmers, growers, bakeries, prepared food and beverages, packaged foods, and local artisans. Weekly attendance is from 5,000 to 7,000 people, many who are drawn to The Market by their favorite vendors. Other shoppers visit to see what's new, and this year there will be plenty of fresh attractions. Fresh sweet, tart, and Rainier cherries, raspberries, strawberries, melons from southern Utah, apricots, carrots, green beans, early tomatoes, corn, salad greens, beets, spinach, chard, bok choy, rhubarb, leeks, onions, and herbs are all available. The Market provides an opportunity for the community to support local and buy garden-fresh delights. Visit the Market to purchase ingredients for your favorite summer recipes, weekend barbeques, and mountain picnics. Utah cherries are an appetizing addition to any Pioneer Day celebration! In addition to the produce, the Market offers an assortment of fresh baked breads and pastries, cheeses, meat and seafood, jams and honeys, house and garden plants, arranged planters, and numerous handmade arts and crafts. Unique food vendors also are a part of the Market, offering prepared foods and beverages for breakfast or lunch in the park. Weekly events offer entertainment for all. Highlights include: the 3rd Annual Chef Showdown, library book sale, Pacific Islander Festival, and the Pumpkin Festival. Music at the Market, presented by City Weekly, returns with an exciting roster of local musicians for Saturday serenades. Food Stamps Accepted Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards can now be used to purchase fresh produce and packaged food at the Downtown Farmers Market. EBT recipients will use the card at the Market Management booth to purchase wooden nickels that will be used to buy food from vendors.

WOW-- I don't know how she slipped through the cracks and did not end up on the inside of the market. The BEST artwork in the market is a GIRL named KYLE at the EDGY ART STUDIO. Her tent is located in the "Outsider section" southeast corner, can't miss it she has a black tent that displays EDGY ART STUDIO. I was blown away with the selection of breathaking artwork she has created. She is by far what I would call a "undiscovered" superstar artist. She specializes in heavy textured, mixed medium abstracts and florals. I purchased 2 paintings, one of which I had to fight for from another customer. Her prices were very reasonable starting at 25.00 to 400.00 (with the exception of her award-winning pieces) She was extremely professional yet refreshingly REAL and delightful. I decided to write this review after receiving in the mail a hand written thank you card for purchasing her artwork. NOW THATS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! She earned this review in my book. Collapse
