Arts Month is full of creative and exploratory activities and events certain to please. Come see the zendo transformed into a gallery featuring several talented artists in our community at the kick off Art Opening and Garden Party. Arts Month will also feature Utah's own Poet Laureate Katharine Coles, along with a collection of exceptional local poets, writers and artists. Try your hand at poetry, photography, Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) and creative writing. Tuesday Evenings: Intro To Zen with Genpo Roshi and Michael Mugaku Zimmerman Sensei July 1, 8, 15, 22 at 7:30pm: $15 per class for friends, free for members. Wednesday Evenings: Four Elements Writing Series with Stephanie Merzel. This four week writing series is designed to support a deeper relationship with the elements: Earth, Air, Fire & Water. Participants will get to share their writing with the group. July 9, 16, 23, 30 at 7:30pm: $15 per class, $10 per class for members. Thursday Evenings: Movie Night - Quest for Fire with Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei. July 3 at 7:30pm. Free with suggested donation. Saturday Evenings: July 19: Ikebana - The Art of Japanese Flower Arranging with Theresa Suoeka. 10:00am-12:00pm: $50 August 2: Photography Nature Walk with Stephanie Merzel. $35 for friends, $20 for members.
