Summer RecFest 2008
June 14, 2008
Living in Utah we are surrounded by an abundance of outdoor activities, many just a short distance away from our front door. As Utah's premiere independent newspaper we wanted to create a comprehensive festival that boasts Utah's greatest outdoor assets with a City Weekly twist, of course! City Weekly's 3rd Annual Summer RecFest will include music by Ghostowne, Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash and Lee Rocker. There will also be food by Chuck Wagon dining, Wasatch Beers and Buy Local First. Demonstrations include: Dutch oven cooking demonstrations from the International Dutch oven society, fly fishing/fly tying demonstrations, jewelry making demonstrations, outdoor cooking demonstration by Camp Chef, a bike valet and bike garage to help fix your bike by Bike Collective and much more!

Event Name: Lunch Bunch with Young At Heart
"Young at Heart!"

It's wonderful to see seniors with such energy and excitement! They are fun to watch and very good together. Seems they are enjoying themselves too!

I've enjoyed Lunch Bunch entertainment at noon for several years. I love the wide variety of performing artists to look forward to! I especially enjoy Michael Lucarelli's Classical Guitar, Gary Stoddard, Young At Heart Line Dancers, and the envigorating and amusing storytelling--such as Karl Behling delivered on July 15th. I loved (LOVED!) his portrayal of "Old Dry Fry!" We storytellers learn from each other! We all look forward to the rest of this marvelous season of sunshine and celebration! Remember! Young At Heart dances on August 4th and September 4th too. Rachel Hedman, of the Utah Storytelling Guild, is the Storyteller on September 5th -- who knows what surprises she'll have in store! Thanks to the Gallivan Center staff for making this all happen for us -- especially Tat'yana and Daniel too. Collapse
