Horne Fine Art is pleased to present Painting Summer, celebrating summer pleasures with refreshing paintings of parks, gardens, patios, pools and lakes. Enter the show and stroll through Fairmont or Liberty Park. Picnic with children. Relax with locals in sunlit neighborhood cafes from Sugarhouse and 9th and 9th. Or if getting out of town is your preference, let the paintings take you there. In addition to scenes from backyards, neighborhood, and local parks, Painting Summer goes farther afield with scenes from artist's travels. Glimpse some roadside hollyhocks as you wind down a road with Phyllis Horne. Recall the peaceful alpine lakes near Jackson Hole. Fishermen can observe a rippling stream from West Hoytsville as seen by Ken Baxter. Swimmers can dive into the gem-like paintings of pools by nationally recognized artist Jamie Wayman. Her latest works glitters with more intense color, higher definition, and a distinct playfulness. She paints swimmers piggybacking, wearing water wings, and stirring up some splash.
