Since 1987, the Utah Arts Council Folk Arts Program has hosted free concerts of folk music and ethnic dance at the Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts, located in the center of Salt Lake City's Liberty Park. Bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket! This Monday, come and enjoy a night of North African/Middle Eastern Music by Bazeen, as well as Basque Dance by the Utah 'Ko Triskalariak. The Arabic-speaking people of North Africa share many traditions with the people of the Middle East. The music of Bazeen bridges these two cultures with songs the weave together both traditional and modern instruments. The Basque people from France and Spain began immigrating to Utah at the turn of the 20th century. Performances by Salt Lake's Utah 'Ko Triskalarik dancers portray the coexistence of old-country humor and ritual found in village life.
