Since 1987, the Utah Arts Council Folk Arts Program has hosted free concerts of folk music and ethnic dance at the Chase Home Museum of Utah Folk Arts, located in the center of Salt Lake City's Liberty Park. Bring your lawn chair or picnic blanket! This Monday, come and enjoy North Indian dance with the Sura Chhandam Katak School of Dance, Russian music by the Salt Lake Russian Performing Group, and Greek dance by the Dionysios Greek Dancers. Under the direction of master artist Bonnhi Chowdhury, performers from Sura Chhandam Katak School of Dance present Katak, a north Indian, elegant, storytelling dance form that dates back to 1250 BC. The Salt Lake Russian Performing Group presents traditional folk songs arranged for an a cappella women's chorus. The Dionysios Greek Dancers transform the stage into a celebration of life, combining intricate steps with boundless energy and enthusiasm.
