Come hear the sweet sounds of Jazz in the Utah Cultural Celebration Center's outdoor amphitheater, located right on the Jordan River. This concert features three of the Salt Lake Valley's most accomplished Jazz musicians and historians, providing you an aural and oral glimpse into the most significant periods of the genre. Join Lloyd 'Doc' Miller and special guest artists as they take you on a tour of the history of jazz from the 20s to the present. Salt City Saints play pure old time New Orleans jazz from the turn of the century and Chicago Jazz from the early 20s. The Saints have played most major festivals and parades in the Valley and beyond and are a popular band for fun occasions and even for funerals. World Class Combo plays 1940's and 50's California Latin and Latin jazz. This fun band is great for Latin dancing so come on up and join in. Swingn'Jive plays hot jive, hard bop and cool jazz from the 40s and 50s with Utah's top instrumentalists. They have played in most major venues in the Valley since the 1960s. Don't be afraid to grab your partner for some Lindy and swing dancing. Following the workshop and concert will be fireworks and a Mardi Gras - style parade with beads!
