The book State by State: A Panoramic Portrait of America (published in September 2008) features the reflections of 50 prominent authors and artists, each addressing one state. The collection looks at our nation through some of our most articulate, insightful, and engaging storytellers. The 35-minute feature film, made by Portland's Powell's Books, stars many of the book's most prominent contributors and will be screened in more than 100 American cities and towns prior to the 2008 election, serving as a catalyst for powerful conversation and personal connection in communities large and small. Join The King's English Bookshop and the SLC Film Center for a free screening of this remarkable film, followed by a lively panel discussion.
