    Weber State University Department of Performing Arts presents violinist Shi-Hwa Wang with guests, pianists Joel Rosenberg and Ning Lu. They will be performing works by Shostakovich, Astor Piazzolla and Beethoven. Children 8 years and older are welcome to attend. WSU Department of Performing Arts faculty member Dr. Shi-Hwa Wang has been concertmaster of several professional orchestras including the Taipei Symphony Orchestra in Taiwan, the Ballet West and Utah Chamber Orchestra in Salt Lake City, and the Classical Music Festival Orchestra in Eisenstadt, Austria. He is the founding member of the Formosan Violin-Piano Duo, the Wasatch Piano Trio, and the Kismarton String Quartet. He is active as a clinician, adjudicator, and master class teacher, both nationally and internationally. Joel Rosenberg is Music Director of Paradigm Concerts and the Orchestra and Chorus of Sandy. He is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and a recipient of a Fulbright Grant to Italy where he studied conducting and the viola at the Conservatory of Sandy Cecilia in Rome. He was recently awarded a grant from the Utah Arts Council to make a recording of music for viola and piano by Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich and Glinka. Dr. Ning Lu was born in China, and made his professional debut and first recording at the age of nine. He completed his doctoral study at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has recently performed the Mozart Piano concerto K 466 with the University of Utah School of Music Faculty Soloists. Dr. Lu is the assistant professor of piano and coordinator of class piano at the University of Utah, School of Music.
