Presented in part by the Indian Forum of Utah, this truly unique exhibit teams two established contemporary weavers from opposite continents, K.V Balakrishnan and Irvin Trujillo, for an intriguing and enlightening view of their culture through their textile art. Two men, creating abstract and contemporary images for over thirty years, now find parallels in breaking out of their culturally traditional roles while maintaining stewardship of a traditional craft dating back hundreds of years. The Utah Community will explore similarities and differences in the creative and technical process that has made them successful in their own countries.
