Everyone likes to shop! The great bazaars of the Middle East were places where everything came together-where spices were traded for jewelry or cloth, new technologies and philosophies were shared, or where the exquisite carpets that symbolize much of the Middle East were displayed and offered for sale. The Utah Museum of Fine Arts will prepare a traveling box of resources, objects, and lesson plans that can be borrowed to help teach about the Middle East as seen through the lens of the bazaar. The workshop will be free and open to the public with special resources and credit available for Utah teachers! Middle and High School students and their parents are invited.
