Peter Matthiessen is a novelist, environmental activist and lifelong naturalist whose non-fiction books include 'The Tree Where Man was Born' (National Book Award nominee) and 'The Snow Leopard' (National Book Award winner). Subhankar Banerjee is a scientist and photographer whose book, 'Arctic National Wildlife Refuge: Season of Life and Land,' captures one of the world's last great wild landscapes and its wildlife. Although oil exploitation proponents have described the refuge as a barren 'wasteland of nothingness,' Banerjee's photographs reveal otherwise. Join Matthiessen and Banerjee for a look at the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and a discussion of today's issues affecting this wild landscape.
