    Experts from University Health Care and the SCI Institute will present the latest research and compelling images connected with hot topics in healthcare today. The audience can peer into the human body via unobtrusive imaging technology and learn about state-of-the-art treatment of increasingly common ailments. Through new medical imaging techniques, scientists are creating a map of the brain and its development. Using this map, a comparison between the geography of a normal brain to that of populations with conditions like Alzheimer's Disease or Autism. Join Dr. Guido Gerig, Dr. Ross Whitaker, Dr. Tom Fletcher, and Dr. Janet Lainhart for a presentation and panel on how medical imaging is being used to research brain health today. Arrhythmias are disorders of the regular rhythmic beating of the heart. The American Heart Association estimates over 2.2 million people are living with atrial fibrillation, a type of arrhythmia. They will discuaa how scientists and physicians at the University of Utah are pioneering a minimally invasive treatment for this common condition. Panel members include Dr. Nassir Marrouche (Cardiology, Director Atrial Fibrillation Program), Dr. Robert MacLeod (Bioengineering, Associate Director SCI Institute), and Dr. Edward DiBella (Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research). Physicians from the University Orthopedic Center will share the experiences in treating the young athlete, discuss what parents and children can do to prevent injury, and what to do should an injury occur. Panel members include Dr. Julia Crim (Musculoskeletal Radiology), Dr. Stephen Aoki (Orthopaedic Surgery), and Dr. Amy Powell (Sports Medicine).
