Celebrate the true meaning of Christmas with the Springville Museum of Art's 23rd Annual Christmas Lamb Show. Children from throughout Utah County submit works annually for this Christmas time exhibit celebrating the wonder, beauty, and true meaning of Christmas. The exhibition is inspired by The Christmas Lamb, a story about the change of heart that a young boy experiences after he makes his yearly visit to an art museum and views an inspiring Christmas painting of the baby Jesus. The boy soon learns that the true meaning of Christmas does not come from receiving, but rather from giving. This show offers an excellent opportunity for young children to exhibit their artwork in a professional Museum setting. It is quite an achievement and honor for the young children to have their artwork exhibited. Over 200 works were submitted, and 70 accepted and hung in the show this year. This show provides an opportunity for patrons of the arts to view artwork that exemplifies the spirit and emotion of Christmas from the viewpoint of a young child, a perspective that should be cherished. David and Ingrid Nemelka of Mapleton are the founders and faithful sponsors of this exhibition celebrating the magic and beauty of Christmas for children. Held annually for the past 23 years, the exhibit will run though December 28th this year. In addition to the Christmas Lamb Show, Museum visitors may also view the 23rd Annual Spiritual and Religious Art Exhibition, Utah Valley K-12 Educators Exhibit, as well as local art from Utah and Russian works of art from the permanent collection during the Christmas Season.
