Christmas Without Mr. C

The Draper Arts Council production of Janeen Jacob Brady's new musical play, Christmas Without Mr. C. is in rehearsal, and an excellent cast looks forward to a great production in two weeks. This will be a world premiere production, although there have been some 'workshop' productions, giving audiences a preview of this exciting effort. Janeen Brady is a well-known local composer, and her many fans impatiently await this new play. The story starts with Santa Claus's unwillingness to suit up again this year in the face of the ingratitude of some selfish children. But some children still have the Christmas Spirit, and are willing to do whatever it takes to get Santa back into the sleigh. One in particular treks over the whole world to persuade him, receiving help along the way from kind and generous individuals. 'The music is tuneful, the kids in the cast are delightful, and audiences are in for a real treat,' says Leslie Johnson, DAC president. The director, Ryan Hoskins, adds that 'working with these kids is just as rewarding as you'd expect it to be. We have some real talented, very young children.'
