Kathy Mattea, the two-time Grammy winner and Country Music Association Female Vocalist of the Year is back by popular demand. Mattea placed 15 consecutive top 10 singles on the country charts in the mid-1980s and early '90s, and is known for such popular classics as '18 Wheels and A Dozen Roses', 'Love at the Five and Dime', and 'Where've You Been'. Her new album COAL was recently nominated for the 2009 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Folk Album. COAL is a collection of mining songs about the miners, their families, and the impact of mining on Appalachian communities.
