      This is a huge show, of 81 poems and 81 paintings. In March of 2008, 9 poets were set the task of writing 9 poems with line and length restrictions, each one inspired by or dedicated to a particular Muse, or Goddess of a particular Art. After 3 months, the poems were distributed to 9 visual artists, such that each artist had a poem for each Muse and each artist. Upon completion, the show was mounted in a large open space, with the work inspired by a particular Muse grouped in a grid of 9 poems/9 paintings. There is a mathematical precision to the show; every painting is 18” x 18” and every poem fit on a 9” x 18” panel. Each grid is sequenced so a given poet appears in the same position. There is a sacred feeling to the space, of stained glass windows, or the stations of the cross. The exhibit is worth seeing multiple times, to take in its scope.
