From 1850 to 1950 white and Spanish settlers had a slow, gradual influence over Navajo culture, due to the considerable interaction and trade between these people. Over the last five decades, however, Navajo culture has been significantly changed by not just white and Spanish cultures, but by other outside influences as well.
