Wild Wednesday Schedule for the month of May. May 6 Get up close and personal with Einstein the American White Pelican (whose beak can hold more than his belly can). Learn about the special adaptations shorebirds have. Discuss the importance of the Great Salt Lake and learn about the different shorebirds that call Utah home. May 13 Are owls really wise? Get the answer to that question and many others as we meet three different owls and decode the mysteries that surround these amazing birds. May 20 Hiding Habitats: Forest and Riparian areas Guided habitat walk with a teacher/naturalist. Venture out on Nature Center's trails to look for signs of wildlife. Learn about forests and what the term riparian means. Meet some of the Nature Center's resident forest and riparian animals. May 27 Have you ever wondered what a snake feels like? What about a tortoise shell? Come find out and get an up close look at the Ogden Nature Center's resident reptiles. Learn what makes reptiles special in the animal world while meeting Laser and Rex, the Desert Tortoises, and Bert, the Great Basin Gopher Snake.
