Dr. Peter Von Sivers Ph.D. will lead a detailed exploration of the war in Iraq. What specific actions are US Troops taking in Iraq? What plan of action is being followed? What are the different leadership factions in Iraq? Which ones are recognized by the US? What progress has been made? Where should the US go from here? Are we able to extricate ourselves from Iraq? This discussion will explore all these questions and more! Dr. Von Sivers Ph.D. specializes in both the historical and contemporary issues facing Iraq today. He has been the book review editor of the International Journal of Middle East Studies, served on the Board of Directors of the Middle East Studies Association of North America, has served as the Director of Graduate Studies for the Middle East Center at the University of Utah and has published a multitude of books and articles dealing with subjects varying from pop culture and social life to politics and the role of Islam in the Middle East today.
