The classic sounds of 1930's and 1940's big band music will echo in the halls of the First Presbyterian Church, when Tad Calcara leads his 16 piece New Deal Swing Band. The concert will feature the original arrangements made famous 70 years ago by the bands of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw and many others. There will be a special centennial tribute to percussionist/band leader and discoverer of Ella Fitzgerald and Chick Webb as part of Black History Month. In addition there will be a sneak preview of this year's centennial of Benny Goodman. Vocalist Lindsey Wood will sing with band as she croons through many favorite love standards for Valentine's.
