According to a new study by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), literary reading is on the rise for the first time in the past 26 years. In 2008 there was an astounding 16.6 million new readers of literature! If you are one of those millions of readers, you're in luck. It's time for the Friends Spring Used Book Sale! The members-only preview sale takes place from 5:00-9:00pm on Thursday, April 23. Purchase your membership in advance or buy one at the door. You'll pay more at the preview sale ($2 for hardbacks, $1 for paperbacks), but you'll have first dibs on thousands of titles. The public sale begins at 7:00am sharp on Saturday, April 25. Hardbacks are only $1.00 and paperbacks are 50¢ on Saturday and Sunday. Prices are cut in half on Monday, and Tuesday is Bargain Day, buy a bag of books for just $5.00 and get the second bag for $2.00. Are you looking for a bestseller, coffee table book, or gift for a friend? There is a roomful of like-new books in mint condition, all individually priced. But don't wait until Half-Price Day or Bargain Day for these books. They do not drop in price, so shop early for the best selection.
