Join The City Library and Sam Weller's Zion Bookstore for unusual and captivating stories of the science of sex with author Mary Roach. Studying sex in the science lab, Roach would tell you, is no cakewalk. Not begun in earnest until the '70s, research on sexual physiology remains taboo today, suffering from the notion that 'sex is a secret shame and not an everyday biological event.' Fortunately, the library has Roach to peek through these blinds of shame for us. Following her bestsellers Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers and Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife, Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex is, according to Roach, 'a tribute to the men and women who dared.' Dared to use hard science to search for better, more satisfying sex.
