Critics have described Hardink as 'a treasure in our city' due to his mastery of Messiaen's works. In this concert, he will perform Messiaen's Oiseaux exotiques, inspired by songs from exotic birds. It serves as a great counterpart to Brahms' light and cheerful Symphony No. 2. Symphonic devotees can prepare for the upcoming performance of Messiaen's Oiseaux Exotiques with the help of Utah Symphony Librarian Clovis Lark. Lark has prepared a 3-part course to help you understand how Messian transposed bird songs into music for piano and orchestra.
