The Days of '47 and Desert News/KJZZ TV Marathon

On July 24, the Marathon joins the Parade route in Salt Lake City. Here's your chance to participate in a Days of '47 event that is fun and offers some exercise. Run to the cheers of thousands of spectators along the Days of '47 KSL 5 Parade route! The starting time for the Marathon is 5:30 a.m., beginning at the top of Big Mountain above Emigration Canyon. Prizes will be awarded to male and female 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. All participants will receive a T-shirt and a souvenir. Marathon Schedule: 6:00am: Days of '47 event that is fun and offers some exercise. Run to the cheers of thousands of spectators along the Days of '47 KSL 5 Parade route! The 10K starts at Research Park, 500 South Wakara Way, on the University of Utah Campus. 7:00am: The 'I am the Future' 5K Walk begins at the EnergySolutions Arena, 301 West South Temple, Salt Lake City.
