The Vietnam War has been the subject of hundreds of films, both fiction and non-fiction, but this story-the story of the rebellion of thousands of American soldiers against the war-has never been told in film. This is a story of a movement that did not take place on college campuses, but in barracks and on aircraft carriers. Zeiger and members of the Vietnam Vets Against the War will discuss the implications of the film's message for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars in a panel discussion following the screening. Zeiger will also discuss an upcoming film Winter Soldiers, which features U.S. soldiers from tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan and their stories. The screening will be taking place in Malouf Hall, Room 201. The event is sponsored by 'The War Room,' an informal group of Westminster faculty and students who have met since prior to the start of the Iraq war to discuss current events, especially today's 'War on Terror.'
